Tele-Learning Workshops
OSSCO© organizes and hosts weekly virtual workshops on Zoom and/or teleconference. Tele-Learning workshops are offered 9 months of the year: mid-September to mid-December, February to June.
Knowledge experts are invited to present on a select topic. Unique, focused and practical themes are explored weekly by the senior’s community.
Staff and volunteers reach out to Tele-Learning learners to encourage participation. Learners are surveyed for feedback after every workshop. This information helps develop future workshops.
What Learners Say ...
...clarity in eligibility for programs... There are so many different levels of pensions, GOOD to know what to expect if you fall in any of the category.
Topic: EI Sickness Benefits & CPP Disability Benefits Oct. 5
Excellent presentation. I learned about the nutritive value of different foods & how to de-stress with some basic exercises. Foods that are good and bad for my health. I also learned something about holistic health.
AGEING Well: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Sept. 21
I learned how to apply to Service Canada for senior's benefits. But I think if it were held in-person Class that will be more useful for newcomers like me. And more sessions are required.

I learned some new details about certain services etc, and ways to get help when in trouble. Always a good thing. RE: The telelearning programs are incredibly good opportunities - especially when ALL tech details work smoothly. I don't think these could be held in person anymore, so it's pretty cool to meet everyone through zoom. Even if you're not good in the digital world !!
