Racism – What was discussed about the topic with government officials

Senators asked senior cabinet ministers about the federal government’s role in addressing anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism, and ending systemic racism during a committee of the whole meeting in the Senate Chamber on Thursday, June 25, 2020. Diversity, Inclusion and Youth Minister Bardish Chagger, Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair and Families, Children and Social Development Minister Ahmed Hussen appeared for the government. The meeting came on the heels of an emergency debate on racism that took place in the Chamber on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at the request of Senator Rosemary Moodie.
