Network! Connecting to Job Prospects

This project, funded by Province of Ontario, provides peer support to adults 55+ and connects them with employability knowledge experts and access to businesses with intergenerational workplaces through networking and training.

A new 8-session virtual training program connects older adults to their peers to improve their labour market participation prospects. New networking opportunities are provided in each class setting. The Network! virtual program is peer delivered and strengthens the networking skills of participants. 16 subject experts create and deliver classes. The OSSCO© Peer Facilitator delivers the interactive learning sessions, leads the focused discussions and dedicated activities that improve job search strategies.

Under this project, a 1-day Conference called Diversify! Older Workers Add Value brings together delegates to network, learn and access 20+ businesses that have intergenerational workplaces. Conference speakers increase awareness of what is necessary to participate in the labour market, how to deal with prejudices and biases i.e., age discrimination, and recognizes contributions that older workers add to businesses in a post-pandemic labour market. This project is ending on March 31, 2023.
