Mission

Empowering older adults and seniors to remain independent, be financially secure, and live safely in community.

As a registered charity, OSSCO©’s Vision Statement guides the organization to help older adults age well through knowledge and personal growth. While based in Toronto, OSSCO© continues its community-based focus in urban, rural, and northern regions in Ontario.  

Since 1987, our mission has evolved to empower older people on their life’s journey through our educational activities; Life Style & Learning 55+ events; annual Seniors’ Conference; research; public awareness activities; information, referral, mediated access; community outreach; and, volunteer programs.

We access more than 500,000 seniors across Ontario through our members and supporters. Members and supporters include both individual seniors as well as networks, alliances, seniors’ groups, and organizations that champion and support Ontario’s diverse and multicultural seniors’ community. Annually, more than 130,000 older adults participate in our learning activities.
