Pittsburgh Synagogue Massacre Affects Us AllEvery day,we learn of another heinous act in the world. Whether it was a local event such as the Danforth shooting or a murderous van on Yonge Street, events that transpired in Pittsburgh in a safe place of worship, should never have happened.We are all deeply saddened by this needless loss of life and injuries in the massacre on Saturday of congregants of the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This violence reminds us that our sanctuaries and places of workshop are not exempt from hateful acts of anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and Xenophobia.We must come together in our resolve to stop hatred and commit to pursuing peace in our communities and neighbourhoods.Weextend our condolences and support to Jewish communities in Pittsburgh and to all American and fellow Canadians of the Jewish faith as well.We ask people to pause to remember those who were affected by this tragedy. We must stand together as humanity against such acts of violence.
